About Free Roam Brewing Company
During his time in San Francisco, he found a second home at a small brewpub, the 21st Amendment Brewery. For several years, he worked closely with brewpub manager Brandon Phillips to host Generation Alive's fundraisers. Baseball, craft beer, and cigars became the foundation of a life-long friendship between Brandon and Jeremy. The joy he received in mingling with the brewery crowd and charitable contributors inspired him to bring a world-class microbrewery home to Texas. In 2020, Jeremy returned to where he fell in love with craft beer to recruit his new team.
For most of us, having a three-time world championship baseball career in San Francisco would be the high point of our lives. For Jeremy Affeldt, it was the foundation for his true calling, empowering the youth, feeding the hungry, and protecting the vulnerable. It is through his philanthropy that Jeremy would develop a passion for craft beer.

At the 21st Amendment Brewery, Brandon Phillips and Jaron Shepherd dreamed of running their own brewpub someday. They both started as bartenders who worked their way up the ranks together. Going through the same hard knocks school created a lifetime bond between the two that only men in battle can understand. A Texas native, Brandon ran the iconic west coast brewpub for six years, alongside head brewer Jaron Shepherd. Brewing since 2011, Jaron started as a bartender. Focused on his passion, he pressed the SF head brewer for a brewing position until he got the job. After years of apprenticeship, he earned the head brewer position. His perseverance and groundbreaking beers won a 2019 Silver Medal at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF). They also earned him a coveted scholarship at the Siebel Institute in Chicago, IL. In San Francisco, Jaron was responsible for developing high-quality, innovative beers for the Bay Area community and competition. He also worked closely with the 21st Amendment Master Brewer, Shaun O'Sullivan, to fine-tune recipes destined for national distribution.
